Definition:
Through Rate (CTR) – The percentage of people who click on an ad or link compared to the number of times it was displayed
Example:
Suppose an online store ran a display advertising campaign for their new product line for a week. The ads were displayed a total of 10,000 times, and during that time, they received 100 clicks. To calculate the CTR, we divide the number of clicks by the number of times the ad was displayed and then multiply by 100 to get a percentage:
CTR = (Number of clicks / Number of times the ad was displayed) * 100
In this case, the CTR would be:
CTR = (100 / 10,000) * 100 = 1%
So the Click Through Rate for the display advertising campaign is 1%, which means that for every 100 times the ad was displayed, one person clicked on it.
